How to Light Coconut Charcoal Like a Pro
Lighting coconut charcoal doesn’t need to be complicated — but doing it the right way can make a huge difference in your smoking experience. Whether you’re using a burner, electric coil, or stove, follow these steps:
1. Use a Single-Layer Burner or Coil Stove
Place your KENZ Coconut Charcoal directly on the burner surface. Avoid stacking coals to ensure even heating.
2. Flip for Full Ignition
After 3–5 minutes, flip the coals using tongs to ignite the other side. You’ll know they’re ready when they’re glowing red and have a thin gray ash coating.
3. Wait for Full Ashing
Patience pays off. Fully lit coals burn longer and produce less odor or harshness.
Pro Tip:
Never use lighter fluid or quicklights for natural coconut coals. It defeats the purpose of a clean, flavorful session.
